Lore & Background
Banaza is summoned to the Kingdom of Klyrode as a hero candidate but is deemed inadequate and banished to a dangerous forest. After slaying a slime, he levels up and obtains infinite stats, granting god-like powers. He defeats and befriends a female demon wolf named Fenrys, who becomes his first friend and later his wife. Assuming a new human form and calling himself Flio, he tries to stay out of the human-demon conflict but eventually joins with friends from both sides to end the war and promote coexistence.
Reader's Guide
The series began as a web novel on Shōsetsuka ni Narō from 2016 to 2019, then was acquired by Overlap for print publication starting December 2016. A manga adaptation by Akine Itomachi launched in January 2019 on Overlap's Comic Gardo website. An anime television series by J.C.Staff aired from April to June 2024, with a second season announced. The story's premise—a hero who gains overwhelming power early and chooses a peaceful life—distinguishes it from typical isekai narratives. Characters include Flio's wife Rys, the former Dark One Gholl, and the Blonde Hero, an arrogant rival whose incompetence ironically advances the plot. The series explores themes of prejudice, slavery, and coexistence through Flio's neutral stance and his growing circle of allies from both human and demon societies.
