Chōjin-teki Share House Story Charisma
Japanese 2.5D mixed-media project launched in 2021.
Chōjin-teki Share House Story Charisma (Japanese: 超人的シェアハウスストーリー『カリスマ』) is a Japanese mixed-media project that blends 2D characters with real-world performances. It was launched in 2021 by Shū Matsubara, King Records under their Evil Line Records label, and Dazed. The project centers on musical releases and live concerts, and has since grown to include manga and an upcoming anime.
A four-panel manga series, Charisma: Kyō mo Heiwa Desu, was serialized in Kodansha's shōjo magazine Dessert from January 2023 to December 2024. Rin Manda handled the storyboard, with art by Iori Irino. It was collected into two tankōbon volumes. Another manga series, Charisma: Charisma na Karera wa Charisma House de Karizumai-chū, ran on Kodansha's Comic Days website from February to December 2023. Written and illustrated by Sō Tobita, it also spans two tankōbon volumes.
An anime television series, simply titled Charisma, is in production by Pierrot Films. Jōji Furuta will direct, with Matsubara handling series composition and screenplays. Ebimo is credited for original character design, and Evil Line Records will manage the music. The series is scheduled to premiere on TBS and its affiliates, though no specific date has been announced.
The project features seven characters: Iori Motohashi (voiced by Katsumi Fukuhara), Terra (Genki Okawa), Rikai Kusanagi (Masahiro Yamanaka), Kei Sarukawa (Kenta Hosoda), Ohse Minato (Saku Hyūga), Akihiko Tendō (Tomohisa Hashizume), and Fumiya Itō (Yūki Ono).

Reader's Guide
Chōjin-teki Share House Story Charisma represents a contemporary example of Japanese 2.5D media, blending 2D character design with real-world musical performances and live concerts. Its significance lies in its cross-platform expansion: from music releases to two distinct manga serializations in both print and digital formats, and an upcoming anime adaptation. The project's launch in 2021 under King Records' Evil Line Records label and Dazed highlights the role of record labels in driving multimedia franchises. The anime announcement in late 2025, with a premiere set for January 2027, indicates sustained interest and investment. The involvement of multiple creators—Shū Matsubara, Rin Manda, Iori Irino, Sō Tobita, and Pierrot Films—demonstrates collaborative production typical of such projects. The legacy of Charisma will likely be assessed by its ability to maintain audience engagement across music, manga, and anime, and by the success of its upcoming television series.
